A new interface between FaxStar and LaserNet allows you to define a FaxStar output port directly in Lasernet.

Lasernet, our output management solution, offers in its latest version the possibily to define an outpout port for FaxStar. This will allow you to easily send documents from Lasernet to the FaxStar server. This can be down automatically or using scripts in LaserNet.

You can then define:

the recipient
the originator
the coverpage
the confirmation mode
etc.

The latest version of the FaxStar MailGateway comes with a lot of new features, specially with a new module of user rights control.

Before, every user connected to the network was able to send a fax to FaxStar. Now with the new version, there is a user database to define which users are allowed to use the MailGateway (according to their email address). Moreover, every use defined in the database can have a different setting. You then can define:

if the user is allowed or not to send faxes
if the user is using a coverpage, and which one
the confirmation mode (always, only on failure, only on success)
the image format attached for confirmation (PDF, TIF,...)
the number of attempts
the delay between each attempt
the priority
the mailbody format
the line group

The database can also be popultaed with personal data that will appear on the coverpage:

the name of the company / department
the user name
the phone number
the fax number

More than a simple security update, this settings can be very interesting specially about the priority options, in order to optimise your traffic.

Since few weeks the Windows Update tool has been replaced by the Microsoft Update tool. This new tool is used to update Windows and also every Microsoft product, like the Office application for instance.
For an unknown reason, some PCs can't connect the Microsoft Update tool, by the way, when they try to manually download the updates, it searches forever. An easy solution would be to simply de-activate the Windows updates, but it's not a good idea. You should instead prefer to go back to the old tool Windows Update.
To do so, you need to connect to the Microsoft Update website, and click in the "Parameters" menu on the left. In the bottom of the parameters page you'll find an option to de-activage Microsoft Update. This de-activation will re-active Windows Update.

It's the only solution to follow the time Microsoft solves the issue. Of course, Hoctoplus is not responsible of the decision you take about your PC, and we invite you to be very caution when you change system data.
