Max/400
New prices
After long chats with our provider we could negociate new prices on the MAX/400 licences. Those new prices are lower from 10% to 30% depending on the machines and renting durations.
As a reminder, MAX/400 is a small application that can do miracle of your AS/400 performances. It can free the interactive power of your machine!
Simple to enable and disable, it does not modify the microcode and is safe for your machine.

FaxStar
MailGateway
This month we decided to talk about the MailGateway which is a important module of the FaxStar solution.
The MailGateway is an application that interface FaxStar and your Email server (Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange, or any SMTP server).
With a minimum of configuration, you'll allow your users to send faxes directly from their email clients application using specific email format like "fax_number@fax". According to the mail server, the format can be slightly different.
The email is then sent to your Email server, which recognize the "@fax" domain and route it to the MailGateway application on the FaxStar server.
When the MailGateway receives the email, it converts the mailbody and the attachements (.PDF, .XLS, .DOC...) into a fax document and send it to the specified fax number.
After the sending, the MailGateway returns an email to the user to let him know if the fax has been successfully sent of not.
Simple, isn't it? The FaxStar MailGateway is a modern tool to send faxes and does not need any modification on the user's side.

Hoctoplus Monthly Offer
This month you'll have until Septembre 2010, the 30th to take advantage on our monthly offer. It is based on the Exchange MailGatewaye module for FaxStar Advanced Server. This module will allow you to send faxes from your Microsot Exchange clients.

Empty document
When FaxStar receives a print document with no ** commands in it, by default it prints this document on the default printer in order to not lose it.
If this behaviour annoyed you, and you don't have the possibility to not send this document, then you can ask FaxStar to not print empty document. Just add the following registry key:
Name: DontPrintEmptyJob
Type: Dword
Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sepe Inc.\Catalina\Config\HOST\
Value: 3
You'll need to restart the application.
