This month, the FaxStar MailGateway for Microsoft Exchange 2007 is available. It has been installed for real and seems to work pretty well. Then we'll show you the new graphic interface of the FaxStar Advanced Server. All options, of every modules are now gathered in a same panel.

The FaxStar Advanced Server's solution is able to send faxes through emailing servers:

Lotus Notes (all versions)
Microsoft Exchange (versions 4.x, 5.x, 2000 and 2003)
Standard SMTP (direct connection with an ISP, local SMTP server, Unix SMTP server...)

Few weeks ago, there was no interface for Microsoft Exchange 2007 ; this Exchange version was totally different than the old versions. Thus we've developped a new MailGateway compatible with Microsoft Exchange 2007!

All you have to do is install a FAX connector on your Microsoft Exchange serverand then if:

You send an email to [FAX:0102030405] and attach the documents you want to send by fax (.doc, xls, .pdf...).
the Microsoft Exchange server receives the mail, recognize the format and store it in a work folder.
A FaxStar service is waiting for files in this work folder and forward it the the FaxStar MailGateway which converts it into fax and send it.
Once the fax has been sent, The FaxStar MailGateway delivers a mail confirmation to the sender.

Since few weeks, FaxStar Advanced Server has a new configuration interface for a better access to every settings. This modification was necessary since the interface had became a bit complex through years.

At first, only the main application settings were present in this new configuration menu, (the "black window" if you prefer), without displaying the properties of the other FaxStar modules (like the FaxStar MailGateway, the Archiver and Traffic Manager).

Thus, the new interface has been modified once again to add those modules. Now all the FaxStar modules appears in the configuration interface!

Of course you can still go back to the previous interface if you prefer.

This month, you'll have until 2010 January the 31st to take advantage on our special offer. It is based on the MailGateway for Microsoft Exchange 2007. This module will allow you users to send fax from their mailing clients through Microsoft Exchange 2007.

For any order received before the 31/01/2010, you'll have a 20% on this module.

This is a question we hear twice a day: Is FaxStar Assistant compatible with the V6R1M0 ? And the answezr is: YES.

But, if you try to start the IBM control tool that checks the compatibility of any application, you'll see that some FaxStar Assistant objects won't be able to migrate. Don't worry! It's an old module that is no more used by FaxStar Assistant.

By the way, don't forget to ask for a new code or else the subsystem won't start!
