More and more customers are building emergency recovery solutions and ask us how we can help for their FaxStar machine.

We're thinking about it with our partners, and we'll hope to explain you in details in some months. Here is what it should be:

Your main FaxStar unit must be covered by a maintenance contract.
You'll have to purchase the material for the secondary machine (PC and faxboard).
We offer you the secoundary license ; this would be strictly the same than the main one ; this will be a temporary license renew each year.
This secondary license must be covered by a maintenance contract that would be a little bit more expensive than the main one. Our technical team will check at least one time every year that this machine is working fine.

As you know, FaxStar Advanced Server is not only a fax machine. You can also send email but also...SMS!
These last weeks we did make some changes to improve the SMS extension, and this is a good opportunity for us to explain you what you may do with SMS.

First of all, send SMS also means you must have a GSM modem attached to your FaxStar and a valid Sim Card with any provider. Sending SMS is simple: just create a .txt file from your applications containing **SMS followed by the GSm number ; that's all!. It's also possible to send SMS using your mailing server (Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange, SMTP...) or any web application.

Just imagine what you could do with SMS!

tell your customers their order is prepared and has been sent,
send commercial informations or special offers,
remind your partners, customers or providers of a meeting, conference or formations,
receive an alert when an application ends,
receive an alert when an email incomes on an emergency email address,
...

Using SMS is a sign of modernity your partners must appreciate.

This month, you'll have until the 31/12/2009 to take advantage of our monthly offer. It is based on the PDF extension for FaxStar. Using this extension you'll be able to send PDF files, convert incoming fax into PDF, or even email spooled files into PDF.

For any order received before the 31/12/2009, you'll have a 20% discount on this extension.

It is now possible to divide your FaxStar's printers depending if they are Ansi or not. If you want a dedicated printer to deal with Ansi spooled files, You just have to create a Multi_Reg_SZ value named "AnsiPrinters" in HKLM\Software\Sepe Inc.\Catalina\Config\Host\ and precise the name of the printers (with a carriage return between each Ansi Printers).

If you want to declare the PollDirectory as Ansi, add this value ~PollDir in the key.
