Use Lasernet with your ERP (BAAN or else)
Problem
One of our customer is using BAAN as ERP, which is installed and configured in an other European country and generates invoices, acknowledgments, and any other production documents. Everything is running fine, but once in a month, after some updates the file format can be slightly different from the previous version and so the layout is modified.
Solution
- We have asked the main office to generate XML files.
- The Lasernet XMLin module is now reading the XML file and build a stable form. Documents are not composed anymore on the relative information's position but depending on XML TAGS and their values.
Result
Documents are now stable even when the main office makes changes.

Email archiving solution
We're seeking for volunteers
Have you ever lost any email after an HDD crash or a bad deletion? Have you already search for hours emails you are sure to have...somewhere? If yes, then we may have a solution for you!
We are working on an email archiving solution for Microsoft Outlook (POP mode or Exchange client mode). This network solution will help you to:
- unload your local PST files.
- retrieve the information using a search engine.
- share or not your emails with other network users.
- resend or forward archived emails.
- save on disk or DVD your archived emails
This software is now in development and we'll soon need your help for testing. Of course any volunteer will get a free version of our archiving software.

FaxStar Advanced Server
Send PDF file instead of building PCL
PDF is now one of the most used file format in the world. Most of servers (iSeries, Unix...) are now able to generate PDF as output of their applications instead of PCL or PostScript printing.
Do you know that FaxStar is able to send PDF file by fax?
Using the Poll Directory function, you just have to generate a TXT file in a network directory that contains some special commands:
**(FAX) 0130928354
**(XATTACH) \\server\network_folder\file.pdf
When FaxStar Advanced Server will find this TXT file in the "Poll Directory" it will analyse the content, and will send the specified PDF file by fax to the specified number. Simple, isn't it?

Read acknowledgment
When you send an email via Faxstar Advanced Server, it is possible to ask for a read acknowledgment. You simply have to add the following value:

Of course you'll get your read acknowledgment if the SMTP server is correctly configured and if your recipient is agree to return it.
