This is also the month of the SMS module. We sold in only one month as many SMS licence than from the begining. In this newsletter you'll also find :

SMS Sending
Find how to send SMS using FaxStar Advanced Server
Maybe you do not know but FaxStar Advanced Server is not only a simple machine that is able to send thousand faxes per hour, it can also send emails and SMS as well.
Massive or ponctual SMS sending can be done using 3 ways:
- by printing a spooled file containing some special FaxStar commands in it for instance **(SMS) +33612345678;
- by storing a simple text file with the same command **(SMS) +33612345678;
- or by sending an email to a particular address type like [SMS:+33612345678] with Exchange or +33612345678@sms with Lotus Notes or using SMTP.
Of course you must own a SMS modem and a Sim Card to be able to send SMS.
A lot of doors are opened if you simply think what you could do using SMS.

FaxStar MailGateway for Microsoft Exchange 2007
New FaxStar MailGateway in its way
The FaxStar Development team is working hard on the new Exchange MailGateway that will be fully compatible with Microsoft Exchange 2007. Just for reminder, the FaxStar MailGateway allows your users to send faxes from their Exchange client (Outlook). Emails and attachements (Excel, Word, PDF...) are converted in images and simply faxed. Few seconds later, a acknowledgment is returned to the user.
FaxStar Advanced Server has MailGateway for Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange (5.5, 2000, 2003) and SMTP ; it was so necessary to get a MailGateway working for Microsoft Exchange 2007.

Rename the attachment - again!
You're right, we've talked about this tip two months ago. But there's something new!
As you already know, you can rename the FAX.TIF file when you send an email using FaxStar Advanced Serverby changing the MailSysFlags DWORD value to 1 under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Sepe Inc./Catalina/Config
Good news, using the latest verion of FaxStar Advanced Server here is what you can do:
If MailSysFlags = 1 ; FAX.TIF will take the name of the **REFX value if exist
If MailSysFlags = 2 ; FAX.TIF will take the name of the **REF value if exist
If MailSysFlags = 3 ; will take the name of the **REFX value if exist, or **REF if exist
If MailSysFlags = 4 ; will take the name of the day date.
