During a recent installation we encountered a specific request. The customer wanted to automatically launch a command on the new spooled files created by the FaxStar Assistant Robot. Who never wanted to automatically duplicate a spooled file, or send in an OUTQ, delete it, or even apply a specific command? FaxStar Assistant (FSA) has had such a function since a very long time. To do this you must:

1. from the "work with rules" create a new FSA rule with a "SP" type. Some standard elements exist like Released, Hold, Copy, Delete, but you can also create your own.
2. then you must create a new rule with "R" (like Robot) based on the previous rule you have just created. Of course this rule must contain the spooled files interception needed informations.

To create your own element, you must write a program that receives all the spooled files attributes through a DTAARA. Attributes are:

AS/400 job name that has created the spooled file
AS/400 user name that has created the spooled file
AS/400 job ID that has created the spooled file
name of the spooled file
spooled file ID
Outq and library name
formtype
user data
etc...

With such a system, we easily worked with MasterPrint and LDPRX softwares. If you have any question, feel free to ask.

It often happens that after a Windows update on your system it asks for a restart. After few questions, and if you don't restart your PC, it will automatically restart and maybe not when its a good moment!

It is possible to ask Windows to not restart the PC automatically, even if you'll have to restart anyway when you'll think it is a better moment.
