Our move is fast approching and by the time you receive the next Hoctoplus News we will be relocated in our new office. During our move it is possible we may encounter some communications problems (DSL line, VoIP, etc.). Please be patient as any problems encountered should be fixed as soon as possible. The POP Gateway module is an option of the FaxStar SMTP Mail Gateway. With this module you will just have to define a POP3 email address in your actual Mail Server (or directly with your ISP) to be able to send faxes from anywhere in the World!

Any user who wants to send a fax will simply send an email to this specific email address, and use the word FAX:0123456789 (where 0123456789 is the recipient fax number) and add any file (PDF, DOC, XLS, etc.) they wish to send.

Our POP Gateway module will make a connection to this dedicated POP3 account, will only keep the emails sent from domains you had authorized and forward those emails to the Fax«StarÒ Sever who will fax them.

When you send spooled files that contain some **FAXSTAR commands, if those commands are placed in a bold area there is a likely probability that the ** commands will be duplicated. In fact, the bold effect is obtained with a superposition of 2 identical lines but at a near pixel position, then all the **FAXSTAR commands in bold can be duplicated.

FaxStar Advanced Server is able to ignore those duplicated commands without modification of your spooled files. Simply add the IgnoreDuplicateFaxCmd DWORD value under the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Sepe Inc./Catalina/Config/HOST. The value must be set to 1 in order to be active.
