First, we want to wish you all a Happy New Year. We hope it will bring everything you may want, on a personal side as well as a professional side.
This New Year is an important step in Hoctoplus as outlined below:
- We will be moving to a much bigger facility in the Spring,
- Launch an international version of our Hoctoplus Newsletter,
- Announce a new version of FaxStar Advanced Server (now testing a beta version). The new release will include:
- A new setup graphic interface,
- Have a new database system,
- New screens for Windows Vista
- Announce a new Traffic Manager software. This new module is currently in test and should be available soon.
Once again, our best wishes for a Happy New Year 2008.

Traffic Manager Module (In test)
Hoctoplus proudly announces the soon to be released Traffic Manager module for the FaxStar Advanced Server. This client/server application is intended to follow up on the Traffic of all your FaxStar Servers, outbound and inbound. Its centralized interface will allow you to:
- make advanced searches, even on partial strings
- make sorts and filters
- display incoming and outgoing faxes on users' screen
- export your selection into Microsoft Excel
- resend faxes
- ...
Traffic Manager is curently in test and should be available very soon. We will keep you informed for its official release date in one of our upcoming Newsletters.

Timeout before the fax tone
Some of your recipients certainly use answering/fax machines. When the answering starts, some of these machines have the ability to recognize the fax tone and can immediately receive the incoming fax; however, many of these machines are not so intelligent!
The not-so-intelligent machines just wait for a fax tone at the end of the vocal message and it is too long, then the fax server decides to disconnect.
By default, the timeout happens after 60 seconds on the Eicon Diva boards. If you wish to change this waiting time, you can add the DivaAnswerTimeout and DivaConnectTimeout DWORD values in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Sepe Inc./Catalina/Config/FAX, and enter a new decimal value (in seconds).
